We really enjoy going to Katy Trail. The trail is nice and scenic. The location is near a wonderful winery (Les Bourgeois Winery) that has fine doing, great outdoor venue for local bands at the A Frame that includes a small decadent menu. It is also near a lot of B&B's and a bike rental shop. It is just outside of Columbia, MO.
One of best trailheads on the trail. The bathrooms are heated and have ac and running water. This means they are open year around. Accessing the trail from Rocheport allows for variety of ride options. Views of the bluffs and river are fantastic.
It's lovely any time of the year. The trail is well maintained and parts of it are very near the Missouri River. We walk awhile then sit awhile on the benches and just enjoy breathing in nature and greeting bikers and other walkers.
Extremely well groomed level bicycle and walking trail along the Missouri river. Anyone can ride a bike safely here away from hustle and bustle of traffic. Rode from Rocheport past Mcbaine and back again for total of 23 miles. Plenty of shade all along with benches at scenic overlooks and historical markers. Excelled expectations.
Went on the tram ride for seniors. Great info from the guide on the sites along the way that I never knew. Well worth the 2 hrs to get there.
