I made a special trip out to Rocheport because I love the little antique shops and generally friendly atmosphere. However, I was really disappointed to walk into Stockton Mercantile and be ignored. The lady at the front register was playing with her cell phone. She looked up at me, didn’t smile or say anything, and then looked back down. As I was leaving, I walked right passed her and smiled, to no avail. I felt unwelcome and the friendly feel of the community was completely absent in that store. I will definitely not be back when I’m shopping in Rocheport!
